Representative Council Elections 2009 of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki

The next Representative Council Elections of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki (HYY) will be conducted on 3 and 4 November 2009. The advance voting is organised on Wednesday, 28 October and Thursday, 29 October. The highest decision-making body of the Student Union, the Representative Council of sixty members, will be elected.

There are 908 candidates in the HYY elections this year. This is slightly over hundred candidates more than in the previous elections in 2007. Altogether 11 coalitions have set candidates. Additionally, one more candidate without a background group has signed up for the elections.

You can vote on the four campuses of the University of Helsinki in 18 voting stations and additionally in the offices of the University of Helsinki in Lahti and Vaasa. The election results will be revealed at the election night party at the Old Student House (Mannerheimintie 3) late on Wednesday night on 4 November. The Election Night Party will begin at 6 p.m. and everbody is welcome there!
